Eric Lane Barnes is the author of the critically acclaimed Fairy Tales, which received numerous awards in Chicago, New York, and London. His show ‘The Stops’ has played in cities across the US, winning ‘best musical’ at the National Gay and Lesbian Theater Festival in 2006.

From 2000 through 2017 Barnes was the Associate Artistic Director of Seattle Men’s Chorus and Seattle Women’s Chorus, creating and conducting numerous works for countless enthusiastic audiences all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. While with Seattle Choruses ELB formed and directed the premier men’s ensemble Captain Smartypants, and directed the sublime women’s ensemble Sensible Shoes from 2013 through 2017.

In 2013 and 2016 Barnes traveled to Beijing and Seoul to work with The Beijing Queer Chorus, the first LGBT chorus in mainland China. Barnes continues his work as consultant with choruses, ensembles and other performing entities in the United States and abroad.
Eric is the artistic director of Puget Soundworks, an all-gender, LGBTQ-friendly inclusive singing community serving the Puget Sound region. ELB is also cofounder and ¼ of Princess Guy, Seattle’s Most Fabulous Vocal Quartet, a proud member of GALA Choruses. Eric is currently working on several illustrated children’s books with illustrator Rob Dorn, and is writing a contemporary oratorio on the life of a beloved historical spiritual leader.
